By downloading, installing, or using Parlo ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Parlo is a macOS application that helps developers translate their Xcode string catalog files (.xcstrings) using artificial intelligence. The App offers two operating modes: BYOK (Bring Your Own Key) mode where you provide your own API keys, and Magic mode where translations are processed through our servers.

3. Operating Modes

BYOK Mode (Bring Your Own Key)

When using BYOK mode, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • You must provide your own valid API key for your chosen provider (OpenAI, DeepL, or Google Translate)
  • You are responsible for all charges incurred through your API provider account
  • Your use of third-party APIs is subject to their respective Terms of Service
  • Translation requests are sent directly from your device to the provider's servers
  • All data is stored locally on your device and never touches our servers

Magic Mode

When using Magic mode, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • Translation requests are routed through our servers to OpenAI
  • We do not store, log, or retain any of your translation content
  • Your data is processed in transit only and immediately discarded after the translation is returned
  • You are subject to our pricing and credit system for Magic mode usage
  • We reserve the right to modify pricing and credit allocations at any time

Your use of translation services is subject to the terms of the respective providers:

You agree to:

  • Use the App only for lawful purposes
  • Not use the App to translate content that violates any applicable laws or third-party rights
  • Keep your API keys secure and confidential (in BYOK mode)
  • Review all translations before using them in production applications

6. Intellectual Property

The App and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Parlo and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Your translated content remains your property.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or quality of any translations produced by the App. AI-generated translations may contain errors or inaccuracies, and you should review all output before use.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Parlo shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of the App.

9. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. We will notify users of any material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after any changes indicates your acceptance of the new terms.
