Parlo ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our macOS application for translating Xcode string catalogs using AI.
2. Two Operating Modes
Parlo offers two distinct operating modes, each with different privacy characteristics:
BYOK Mode (Bring Your Own Key)
In BYOK mode, you provide your own API keys for translation services (OpenAI, DeepL, or Google Translate).
- All data is stored locally on your device
- Translation requests are sent directly from your Mac to your chosen provider
- Your data never touches our servers
- API keys are stored securely in the macOS Keychain
Magic Mode
In Magic mode, translations are routed through our servers using our OpenAI API key.
- Translation requests pass through our servers to OpenAI
- We do not store, log, or retain any of your translation content
- Your data is processed in transit only and immediately discarded
- No database records, no logs, no copies of your strings
3. Information We Do Not Collect
Regardless of which mode you use, we do not collect, store, or have access to:
- Your API keys (in BYOK mode)
- The content of your .xcstrings files
- Your translation requests or results
- Any personal data or identifying information from the app
4. Third-Party Services
Parlo uses third-party APIs to perform translations:

5. Waitlist Data
If you sign up for our waitlist on this website, we collect:
- Your email address
This information is used solely to notify you when Parlo launches and to send occasional product updates. We do not sell, rent, or share your email address with third parties. You can unsubscribe at any time.
6. Data Security
In BYOK mode, your API keys are stored securely in the macOS Keychain, which provides hardware-level encryption. We do not transmit or store your API keys on any external servers. In Magic mode, no credentials are stored on your device as translations are processed through our servers.
7. Analytics and Tracking
The Parlo macOS app does not include any analytics, tracking, or telemetry. We do not collect usage data, crash reports, or any other information about how you use the App.
8. Children's Privacy
Parlo is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after any changes indicates your acceptance of the updated policy.
